Job Title: Highways Apprenticeship Delivery Specialist/Trainer – Sheffield

We are currently recruiting for a highly organised, qualified Apprentice Delivery Specialist to join our existing team. 

Our Apprenticeship Delivery Specialists are a distinctive and eclectic mix of talent. They are sector relevant, having gained significant expertise and an intrinsic knowledge of their sector, inside out and being ‘credible’ in their field. They are ingenious at imparting knowledge and skill to others, bringing alive and sharing their sector expertise in a way that will develop our apprentices to become experts themselves. They are equally comfortable engaging with the senior managers of the business as they are the apprentice.

This opportunity will be to work as part of a team nationally.

Duties


  • Deliver high quality training using a variety of learning methods to employees in the relevant sector to achieve either the End Point Assessment (EPA) in an apprenticeship standard or qualifications which form part of the apprenticeship framework including delivery of English and maths. Learning methods can include one to one mentoring, group workshops, online webinars and remote learning. 
  • Assess learners to ensure that have met the requirements set out in qualification criteria or to assess their EPA readiness. 
  • To produce schemes of work, lesson plans, learning materials and assessment plans, and any other related activities that impact on learning.
  • To bespoke learning programmes in accordance with the employer’s requirements and work in conjunction with the employer to tailor your delivery to compliment the learning and development being managed by the employer and support the employer to do this effectively.
  • To take responsibility for the delivery and successful completion of the apprenticeship programme as per your agreed caseload. 
  • To carry out processes and procedures across the learner journey from initial sign ups of learners, where you will be expected to submit fully compliant documentation right through to completion of the programme. 
  • To work with your specialist manager to identify learners at risk and engage with the necessary cause for concern procedures. 
  • To work with employers to deliver a high quality apprenticeship programme, encourage employer involvement and report on their employee’s progress. 
  • Identify where a learner may require additional support and engage with the appropriate professional including functional skills specialist, ALS specialist or performance coach. Ensuring that any barriers to learning are overcome. 
  • Use IT systems to deliver, record and track training and learning including use of the company e-portfolio and virtual learning environment. To use the appropriate systems to record engagement with employers and to organise inductions as appropriate. 
  • Use appropriate systems and documentation to ensure all activities along the learner and employer journey are fully compliant and you can evidence all of your learners are in learning at all stages of the journey to uphold funding. 
  • Develop and demonstrate best practise in training and learning delivery assuring standardisation. 
  • To present portfolios for Internal Verification and Certification where required, ensuring that accurate and current records are kept with regards to the portfolio progress and, where appropriate, to internally verify the assessment process according to established guidelines. 
  • To uphold and promote company policies and procedures, promoting those specifically applicable to this area of work, including the Equality & Diversity and Health & Safety policies and procedures and attend training as requested.
  • To comply with the safeguarding policy and practices and attend training as requested.
  • To keep up to date, so far as necessary, for the efficient executing of the job, with new legislation, procedures and techniques and attend and undertake relevant mandatory training.
  • To be conversant with and participate in activities and developments at a regional and national level which are relevant to the post.
  • To present and promote an appropriate public image in representing Skills People Group.
  • To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with the post.

Skills


  • Delivering learning activities in an educational sector or relevant employer provision including one to one and group workshops, practical demonstrations and remote learning.
  • Evidence of ability to apply effective approaches to teaching, coaching and assessing at the relevant level.
  • Has sufficient industry/sector/job role/ expertise, experience and approval to be seen as an expert in area of responsibility.
  • Evidence of working confidently with performance/financial/delivery/data information to manage and monitor outcomes.
  • Experience of developing learning programmes and training materials to required standards.
  • Experience using appropriate IT systems to deliver learning, engage with learners and employers and track and monitor progress.
  • Knowledge of the qualifications, knowledge, skills and behaviours relating to the apprenticeship standards and frameworks you can deliver.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation including HEA regulations, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent and Equal Opportunities.
  • Up to date knowledge of sector including industry updates and working practices.
  • Demonstrates extensive range of skills to apply curriculum/programme development, innovation and delivery strategies across areas of expertise.
  • Assessing, coaching and mentoring skills to enable learners to reach their potential.
  • Skilled in the use of IT systems to deliver learning, engage with learners and employers and track and monitor learner progress.
  • Enhanced communication skills to be able to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and self-managing to be able to take ownership and accountability for a caseload of learners and employers.
  • Delivery of apprenticeship standards or frameworks.
  • Able to follow processes.
  • Enthusiasm in the work place.
  • Work well under pressure.

Qualifications


  • Teaching qualification equivalent to CTLLs OR willingness to work towards trainer development programme (6 months) or FE Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship standard (Level 5). 
  • HEA and LANTRA approval.
  • D32/33with update, A1or TAQA- Award in Understanding the Principles and Practice of Assessment Level 3 OR willingness to complete the Assessor-Coach Apprenticeship standard (Level 4).
  • D34 with update, V1 or TAQA – Award and Certificate in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice – Level 4.
  • Literate and numerate holding a minimum level 2 or equivalent in maths and English.
