Supervisors Cards


Each year we help hundreds of construction site supervisors achieve the qualification they need to apply for a Gold CSCS Supervisors Card. Listed below are the various qualifications that when achieved allow you to apply for a Gold CSCS Card.

L3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations – Estimating

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations – Estimating qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Estimating within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. In addition, industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

The Rule of Combination (RoC) below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification.

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 94 credits need to be attained. This comprises 82 credits from the 6 units in this Mandatory Group, plus a minimum of 12 credits from at least 1 unit from the Optional Group.

L3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations – Planning

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations – Planning qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Planning within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. In addition, industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Surveying within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. In addition, industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations – Site Technical Support qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Site Technical Support within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. L3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction)

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace. This Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision provides the opportunity for individuals who supervise others in a relevant construction occupational area to demonstrate their competence. L4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision – Building and Civil Engineering

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace. This Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision ‐ Building and Civil Engineering provides the opportunity for individuals who specialise in building and civil engineering to demonstrate their competence. The units in this qualification are derived from National Occupational Standards.

The Rule of Combination (RoC) below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification.

To achieve this qualification 127 credits need to be attained. This includes the 14 units in the Mandatory Group.

L4 NVQ Construction Site Supervision – Highways and Maintenance Repair

The Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision – Highways and Maintenance Repair qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work in Highways and Maintenance Repair within the construction industry or progress onto further learning.

This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. In addition, industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 131 credits need to be attained. 116 credits must be achieved from the Mandatory Group, plus a minimum of 15 credits from at least 2 units from the Optional Group.

L4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision – Residential Development

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence demonstrated by an individual in the workplace.This Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision – Residential Development provides the opportunity for individuals who specialise in residential development to demonstrate their competence. The units in this qualification are derived from National Occupational Standards.

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 123 credits need to be attained. This comprises 109 credits from the 12 units in the Mandatory Group, plus a minimum of 14 credits from at least 2 units from the Optional Group.
