Every year we help hundreds of senior construction professionals qualify for their Black CSCS Card. Listed below are the qualifications we offer that when achieved will allow you to apply for a Black CSCS Card.

L6 Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management – General

The Pearson Edexcel Level 6 Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management – General is for learners who work in, or who want to work in the construction and the built environment sector.

The Pearson Edexcel Level 6 Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management – General is designed for technical people working at a senior level in a wide range of job roles, for example senior estimator, senior quantity surveyor, senior buyer, senior planner. They will have responsibility for other people in their area of occupation.

This qualification is suitable for people who might be site-based and who have responsibility for functions such as dimensional control, surveys, physical testing and work planning. The qualification covers all sections of the construction cycle, including all forms of construction and civil engineering, and includes functions such as maintenance and demolition, and companies specialising in a single operation such as roofing, plastering and shop fitting.

The learner will need to meet the requirements outlined in the table below before the Pearson Edexcel Level 6 Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management – General qualification can be awarded.

L6 Diploma in Construction Site Management – Building and Civil Engineering

The Pearson Edexcel Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management – Building and Civil Engineering has been developed to give learners the opportunity to:

  • engage in learning that is relevant to them and which will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life

  • develop and demonstrate competence as construction site managers for building and civil engineering, highways and maintenance repair, residential development and conservation and demolition

  • develop technical skills and knowledge and understanding related to the specified job roles in the construction and built environment sector

  • have their existing skills recognised

  • achieve a nationally recognised Level 6 qualification

  • develop their personal growth and engagement in learning.

    This qualification is for managers on-site who are responsible for leading projects, controlling standards and evaluating work. Learners are expected to already be employed in site management roles, overseeing, or starting to oversee, larger projects and sites with the authority, accountability and decision-making, which comes with site management roles, in their respective discipline/s. They may work across one or more of the following disciplines: civil engineering, highways maintenance, residential development, conservation and/or demolition. The qualification may be used as evidence towards achievement of the appropriate Construction Card Competence scheme on site where applicable, and where this is recognised by the employer.

Learners must complete a minimum of 189 credits from the mandatory units. Learners may also select optional units although they are not required to achieve the qualification. Credit from these units cannot be added to a pathway unless the minimum number of credits for the pathway has been attained.

L6 Diploma in Construction Site Management - Highways Maintenance and Repair

The Pearson Edexcel Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management - Highways Maintenance and Repair has been developed to give learners the opportunity to:

  • engage in learning that is relevant to them and which will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life

  • develop and demonstrate competence as construction site managers for building and civil engineering, highways and maintenance repair, residential development and conservation and demolition

  • develop technical skills and knowledge and understanding related to the specified job roles in the construction and built environment sector

  • achieve a nationally recognised Level 6 qualification

L6 Diploma in Construction Site Management – Residential Development

The Pearson Edexcel Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management – Residential Development has been developed to give learners the opportunity to:

  • engage in learning that is relevant to them and which will provide opportunities to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal skills and attributes essential for successful performance in working life

  • develop and demonstrate competence as construction site managers for building and civil engineering, highways and maintenance repair, residential development and conservation and demolition

  • develop technical skills and knowledge and understanding related to the specified job roles in the construction and built environment sector

  • have their existing skills recognised

  • achieve a nationally recognised Level 6 qualification

  • develop their personal growth and engagement in learning.

    This qualification is for managers on-site who are responsible for leading projects, controlling standards and evaluating work. L7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management

This qualification is appropriate for employees in the construction and the built environment sector working across a broad range of areas. It is designed to assess occupational competence in the workplace where learners are required to demonstrate skills and knowledge to a level required in the construction industry.

This qualification allows learners to demonstrate competence against National Occupational Standards which are based on the needs of the Construction industry as defined by ConstructionSkills, the Sector Skills Council. As such it contributes to the development of skilled labour in the sector.

Learners must complete all mandatory units to achieve 59 credits and then select units from two of the three optional groups B1, B2 and B3 to achieve a minimum total of 144 credits.
