Total Qualification Time (TQT) for this qualification: An estimate of the total time it could reasonably be expected for a learner to achieve a qualification. TQT includes guided learning hours (GLH) plus an estimate of the time a learner is likely to spend in preparation, study or other learning activities as directed by but not under the immediate guidance of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor.

Minimum Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for this qualification: 273

The time a learner spends in activities under the immediate guidance or supervision of a lecturer, supervisor, or tutor. This includes assessment if under supervision.

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 82 credits need to be attained. This comprises the 4 mandatory units plus 2 units from the following optional group.

Rules of Combination (ROC) Requirements 

The L2 NVQ Diploma in Cladding and Rainscreen Systems requires you to select and achieve units across the optional groups which are available. You can select units across these groups, based on an overall rule which ensures you meet the minimum credit value for the qualification. To achieve this qualification a minimum of 68 credits need to be attained by completing all 3 mandatory units, plus the required optional units from optional unit Groups A and B. When selecting optional units you must choose 3 units from the Optional unit Groups A and/or B, only one unit can be selected from Group B, achieving the minimum total of 58 credits.

This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a Solid Plasterer within the construction industry.

You will be assessed against a set of performance and knowledge statements which have been derived from National Occupational Standards for your occupational area. It is designed to assess occupational competence in the workplace where learners are required to demonstrate skills and knowledge to a level required in the construction industry.

This qualification allows learners to demonstrate competence in interior systems at a level required by the construction and the built environment industry. Learners can progress across the level and size of the construction and the built environment competence and knowledge qualifications and into other occupational areas such as team leading and management.

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 40 credits need to be attained.  This comprises the 5 mandatory units.

L2 NVQ Diploma in Waterproof Membrane Roofing Systems (Construction) – Reinforced Bitumen Membrane Roofing

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Waterproof Membrane Roofing Systems – Reinforced Bitumen Membrane Roofing qualification has been developed for delivery in a working environment; this means you need to be employed to study this qualification. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge and competence so that you can work as a Reinforced Bitumen Membrane Roofer within the construction industry or progress onto further learning. 

This qualification supports the Learner to attain enabling, fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge. Although part of an apprenticeship, this qualification is available outside of an apprenticeship where either the learner’s circumstances prevent them undertaking a full apprenticeship or where their prior skills and knowledge mean they do not require all components of the apprenticeship. In addition, industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role 

To achieve this qualification a minimum of 61 credits need to be attained. This comprises the 6 mandatory units. There are also additional units that can be taken as part of this qualification. Credit from these units will be included on the certificate but will not count towards this qualification. 

L2 NVQ Diploma in Stonemasonry (Construction) – Banker Masonry

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Floorcovering Occupations (Construction)

The Pearson Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Floorcovering Occupations (Construction) is for learners who work in, or who want to work in the construction and the built environment sector. It gives learners the opportunity to:

  • Develop and demonstrate competence as a floor layer or construction operative, providing installation in commercial or domestic buildings on a construction site
  • Develop technical skills and knowledge and understanding related to the specified job roles in the construction and built environment sector. This includes setting out, preparing and assessing the requirements and installing finishing layers to floorings as well as dealing with customers
  • Have existing skills recognised
  • Achieve a nationally-recognised Level 2 qualification
  • Develop their own personal growth and engagement in learning
  • Relationship with previous qualifications

Learners who achieve the Pearson Edexcel Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Floorcovering Occupations (Construction) can progress to supervisory qualifications, such as the Pearson Edexcel Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision (Construction) or the Pearson Edexcel Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision (Construction), if their job roles develop accordingly.
