About this course
Preparing structural steel loads, platework assemblies, pipework assemblies and pre-formed platework loads for moving; lifting, moving and handling structural steel sections using a range of equipment (manual and automated); erecting/dismantling of structural steel sections, checking the installation of steel structures against specifications; preparing work areas, materials and equipment for steel erecting activities; determining technical and resource requirements to achieve objectives; health & safety in relation to all erecting activities.
Achievement of this qualification will provide opportunities to progress to further qualifications at Level 3 in Management. As part of lifelong learning ECITB encourages learner progression. This qualification offers employment opportunities as individuals are demonstrating occupational competence by qualification achievement. The Rule of Combination (RoC) below specifies the combination of units that need to be achieved for the individual to be awarded the qualification.
Candidates must achieve 59 credits by completing all of the 8 mandatory units plus a minimum of 2 units and 9 credits from the optional units.
