Overview
The Temporary Works Co-Ordinator Training Course (TWCTC) and the Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course (TWSTC) are designed to give those undertaking Temporary Works an understanding of their responsibilities as Co-ordinator or Supervisor, and a working knowledge of the importance of the 4Cs; communication, co-ordination, co-operation and competency.
The CITB Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course (TWSTC) covers the following:
- What are temporary works?
- Why temporary works is important
- Historical cause for concern
- Statutory aspects to temporary works including inspections, stability and design
- Avoiding failure – the ‘3Ps’; people, process and product
- The role of the TWS
- The roles of others
- The ‘4Cs’; communication, co-ordination, co-operation and competency
- Risk management
- Implementing and documenting health and safety systems
Aims
The aim of this course is to provide delegates with a good understanding of the need for and duties of a TWS, the need for risk management and the importance of the ‘4Cs’: communication, co-ordination, co-operation and competency.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed to assist those on site who have supervisory responsibilities in managing temporary works. It is intended to raise and set standards across the industry by ensuring Temporary Works Supervisors(TWSs) have a thorough knowledge of their role and responsibilities.
Course Delivery
This course is delivered through classroom-based tutorials, including a number of exercises and group discussions.
Assessment
A multiple choice assessment forms the examination process at the end of the course.
Certification
CITB Accreditation valid for 5 years.
